A. No. However, there are times when you should refrain from applying it to cars that have serious damage on the painted surfaces. For instance, if the paint is weathering and chalking (a phenomenon which white powder will stick to your hands when you touch the painted surface due to weathering), you should not apply the coating. Even if you had done some repairing on the painted surface, it will affect the performance of the coating, so please consult your detailer before using the product. Also, Echelon provides better performance on auto body than compared to the application on metal parts and steel without paint.

A. There is no fixed price since the application of the coating includes other detailing services such as preparations for applying the coating and other processes, which may be uniquely done and vary by each detailing store.

A. Even if you apply Echelon glass coatings, it will not completely prevent it from adhering on the painted surfaces, and may occur due to environmental factors. The water spots and ion deposits are likely to occur and adhere on the upper and flat aspects of the auto body.
*Water spots occur when water droplets remain on the painted surfaces and are exposed to sun rays. The water droplets act as lenses and thus make a depression on the painted surface. For prevention, you should not allow water droplets to remain on the painted surfaces as much as possible by appropriate care.
*Ion deposits occur when minerals and dust in rain water and tap water evaporates and remain on the painted surfaces. This phenomenon happens when the water droplets evaporates when they are still on the painted surfaces. Once the silica scales adhere to the painted surface in craters, it will become difficult to remove. It is necessary to wash the car frequently and remove residues for regular maintenance.

A. Yes. Coatings deepen the gloss of your car and are car care products to support your daily maintenance, but are not maintenance-free. Maintenance will be required which detailers and our company recommend.

A. The basic way for maintenance would be car washing. Please use Echelon maintenance shampoo for washing your car. At detailing shops, they give appropriate advice meeting each car owner’s needs, so please consult your detailer if necessary.

A. The benefits of applying the Echelon coatings will decrease. Of course the adherence of the contaminants on the painted surface will decrease because of the Echelon coatings, but if the contaminants continue to accumulate, it will become difficult to remove even if you wash the car.

A. Please use maintenance products exclusively made for Echelon coatings or consult your detailer who applied the Echelon coating. Please refrain from using store-bought products since it will damage the coating.

A. It is possible to use a car wash machine though we do not recommend you to. Echelon coatings will not easily be removed by using a car wash machine, but it can damage the coating and make the coating less durable comparing to hand washing. In addition, the coating may become less glossy because the surface of the coating can be easily scratched for that matter.
